Between the end of the First World War and the outbreak of the Second, European passenger shipping experienced a brief yet dazzling golden age. The first-class decks of the great luxury liners brought together business tycoons, politicians, and stars of sport, entertainment, and early sound cinema. Always on board: select shipboard photographers. One of the most prominent among them was Richard Fleischhut.
