Directed by Meike Materne | 2018 | ZDF
One hundred years ago, women gained the right to vote, yet, compared to their male colleagues, they are still underrepresented in politics. The documentary film accompanies four German female mayors in their everyday work, their everyday challenges, their small and large successes but also their private lives: Carmen Marquardt from Adelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Heidrun Hiemer from Schwarzenberg, Sachsen, Katja Wolf from Eisenach, Thuringia and Anna-Katharina Wolf from Weilerswist, North Rhine-Westphalia. Do female mayors really do a different job than their male counterparts? Is there a thing called „female politics“?
