Dunking Girls

The eight-part documentary series “Dunking Girls” follows the young players of ALBA Berlin for one entire season during training, competitions, on trips and in their personal lives. All episodes will be available online starting November 20, 2024, in the ARD Mediathek and the KiKA app. Beginning November 27, 2024, double episodes will air every Wednesday at 8:10 PM on KiKA.
 
Basketball means everything to Marieke, Rosalie, Ella, Lilli, Charly, Raissa, Taisiia, Alma and Jojo. Their ultimate goal is to win the German championship and make the national team. Excitement runs high during the first practice after the summer break because the teams have been restructured and there’s a new coach. With daily training sessions, league matches and group trips such as the national youth camp in Heidelberg or the training camp in Mallorca, the players are once again pushed to their limits non-stop. The balancing act between school and competitive sport is a huge challenge. New motivation comes from watching professional games and meeting 3×3 Olympic champion Svenja Brunckhorst.
