The Alhambra, the former palace city of the Nasrids, still dominates the city of Granada in the south of Spain. Although it looks like a fortress from the outside, its halls are of delicate and fragile beauty. Built at a time when parts of the Iberian Peninsula were under Muslim rule, it is full of mystical codes and symbols that mathematicians, art historians and archaeologists decipher in the film.
Today, the Alhambra is one of the most visited attractions in the world and, together with the Generalife summer palace and the Albaicín district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
