The Mecklenburg Lake District is Europe’s largest region of lakes that are connected by canals and rivers. Also known as the Land of the Thousand Lakes, the region has three national parks (more than any other region in Germany), eight nature parks and hundreds of nature reserves. This film explores Mecklenburg’s picturesque landscapes, its diverse flora and fauna, its cultural highlights and every day life by the water – by boat, on foot or by bicycle.
