Florence

Continuation of the series: UNESCO World Cultural Heritage – Treasures for Eternity

Florence

by Sven Rech | SR | arte | 2024

Florence is home to the largest collection of artworks known worldwide. Michelangelo’s David, Botticelli’s Venus, Giotto’s bell tower and Brunelleschi’s cathedral dome.
This was one of the reasons why UNESCO declared the city a World Heritage Site in 1982. A huge responsibility for a relatively small city. How can all these treasures be preserved? The film observes the silent masters of the art of restoration at work, presenting the Renaissance city of Florence from the workshop perspective.
